Chen Guangjun, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with María de los Ángeles Arrieta, Argentina's newly appointed consul general in Guangzhou, on December 5.
Chen extended a warm welcome to De Los Ángeles Arrieta. He noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Argentina Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. China is committed to working with Argentina to promote the long-term, stable development of this partnership.
Guangdong places great importance on its cooperation with Argentina, Chen said, adding that fruitful results have been achieved in recent years across various fields.
Chen highlighted Argentina's abundant seafood, agricultural products and mineral resources, alongside Guangdong's strengths in photovoltaics, wind energy, green energy, the digital economy, new energy vehicles and artificial intelligence. With complementary industrial structures, there is significant potential for bilateral trade and economic cooperation. He expressed hope for joint efforts to deepen practical collaboration across multiple sectors, leverage opportunities from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and achieve mutually beneficial development.
De Los Ángeles Arrieta thanked the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office for its long-standing support of the Consulate General of Argentina's work. She noted that, since her appointment, she has participated in numerous events hosted by Guangdong, and she was deeply impressed by the province's economic and social progress.
She added that the Consulate General will strive to facilitate further practical outcomes in exchanges and cooperation between Argentina and Guangdong across various fields.
