On Jan 14, Chen Guangjun, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, warmly welcomed the new Consul General Sultanbek Imomov to Guangzhou.
Chen stated that Sino-Uzbek relations have made significant progress under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries. He also emphasized that Uzbekistan is a valued partner of Guangdong and that the province is committed to implementing key agreements and enhancing friendly exchanges.
Chen hopes Uzbekistan will leverage opportunities offered by the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and China-Europe freight trains to boost cooperation.
Sultanbek Imomov praised Guangdong's advanced economy and comprehensive industrial chain. He aims to increase investment from Guangdong companies in Uzbekistan and take bilateral cooperation to new heights during his tenure.
He also looks forward to enhancing collaboration across various sectors with Guangdong, tapping into the latent potential for economic and trade cooperation between the two regions.
