The Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province held a 2025 Spring Festival reception for foreign journalists at the Guangdong Foreign Affairs Club on Feb 13.
Journalists from international media outlets, including Nikkei Shimbun, Japan Broadcasting Corporation, Reuters UK, Kyodo News, Yomiuri Shinbun, Lianhe Zaobao, Channel NewsAsia, Straits Times, and Financial Times, gathered to celebrate Spring Festival.
Cang Feng, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, extended Spring Festival greetings to journalists, thanking them for their role in promoting global understanding of Guangdong's development achievements.
He highlighted Guangdong's triumphs in new quality productive forces and high-quality development in 2024, and previewed key events for 2025, including the 15th National Games.
Cang encouraged journalists to continue reporting on Guangdong's developments with a historical and dialectical perspective, aiming to present Guangdong's vibrant stories in a balanced and diverse manner. He said that this approach will give the international audience a more comprehensive and authentic understanding of Guangdong's economic, social, and cultural progress.
In a relaxed setting, international journalists expressed their gratitude to the Foreign Affairs Office for its support and shared their interest in topics like the low-altitude economy, artificial intelligence, employment, folk culture, and corporate innovation. They also expressed an eagerness to participate in more reporting activities organized by the office to provide broader and deeper coverage of Guangdong's development.
