Chen Guangjun, deputy director-general of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, met with Annie Yerlly Maya Rodriguez, Colombia's newly appointed consul general in Guangzhou, on March 4.
Chen warmly welcomed Annie Yerlly Maya Rodriguez to her new post in Guangzhou. He noted that China-Colombia relationship has continually progressed over the 45 years and seen fruitful results since the two countries established diplomatic relations. Establishing a strategic partnership in October 2023 marked a new era in China-Colombia relations. Guangdong and Colombia have recently engaged closely in areas such as trade, agriculture, education, and local government cooperation, achieving significant outcomes.
Chen hoped that the Consulate General of Colombia in Guangzhou would continue to serve as a bridge, promoting practical cooperation in high-level exchanges, sister city relationships, trade, culture, infrastructure, clean energy, artificial intelligence, and new energy vehicles.
Annie Yerlly Maya Rodriguez expressed gratitude for the support and assistance that the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province has provided to the Consulate General of Colombia in Guangzhou. After visiting several cities, she remarked on her impressions of Guangdong's economic and social achievements.
