China's Diplomacy in the New Era
Guangzhou, Bari strengthen ties with new cooperation pact

Guangzhou Development District (GDD) signed a memorandum of understanding with Bari, Italy on Sept 17, deepening the sister-city relationship established between Guangzhou and Bari in 1986.

The online signing ceremony was attended by Dong Yanjun, executive deputy district mayor of GDD, and Vito Leccese, mayor of Bari.

The memorandum aims to enhance collaboration in green and low-carbon development, smart transportation, and small and medium enterprises incubation.

Leccese described the agreement as a milestone in bilateral relations, while Dong emphasized the strong economic compatibility and shared commitment to practical cooperation between the two regions. This year marks the 50th anniversary of China-Europe diplomatic relations, bringing special significance to the enhanced partnership.

The signing reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen international ties and promote mutual development between Guangdong and Italian partners.
